Questions

What’s your background in Fedora? What expertise do you bring based on past experience, and what projects are you actively involved in now?

I used Fedora in old versions like FC4, but I’m an active user since F25 and part of the community since 2016. I’m an Ambassador in the Latam region, specifically in Chile, also active in Marketing, I’m the host of the Fedora Podcast and I’m part of Mindshare (representing Marketing)

What do you plan to accomplish on the Council? What are the most pressing issues facing Fedora today? What should we do about them?

I want to bring to Council several community questions and try to give them proper answer, for example, pushing Mindshare initiatives forward and helping Ambassadors being confortable with the committee. The most pressing issue ATM is the IBM adquisition of RedHat that have people in expectation, like how will be budget allocated after the adquisition and how to ask for it; other issue that is always present is the communication between technical and non-thecnical teams, that are disconnected until release time, and it get lost again one or two weeks after a release. We need to create documentation that help both sides to be aware of the needs of all. A great example is modularity, a great idea, executed with some bumps but that is finally here; almost any ambassador know really how it works and don’t tell how to advertise it.

What are your interests and accomplishments outside of Fedora? What of those things will help you in this role?

I’m passionate about new technologies, I work in the technology department of a great company that cover fields like retail, banking and assurements. Being in this company makes me more aware on how this companies works and how they look for Open Source technologies that leads in innovation and looks to reduce the budget consumption. This also allows me to understand that people needs to be aware of the technologies they use and where to find documentation about them,
