As you probably know, there is annual convention called Flock. This year’s is happening in Cape Cod, Hyannis, MA and will begin the morning of Tuesday, August 29. Sessions will continue each day until midday on Friday, September 1.

I have asked all of the session leaders from Flock some questions.
And now you are about to read one of the responses.

Create, build and develop our Fedora Websites by Andrea Masala and Robert Mayr

What does your talk focus on?

An overview of  the principal features of Fedora websites and working on real issue tickets.

What is the goal of your session at Flock?

The goal will be to interest as many people as possible and to show them that they can easily contribute to our team.

What does it affect in the project?

The websites team builds and manages the Fedora Project’s main websites. More contributors equals more quality and efficiency.

Without giving too much away, what can attendees expect to learn or do in your session?

Attendees will learn how Fedora’s websites are made, which tools we use, and how they can contribute.

Who should attend?

Everybody that likes web development, front end or back end. No particular skill is required, only time and the desire to learn something new.

What do you do in Fedora/how long have you been involved in the project?

I’ve been involved in the Fedora Project since 2014. First only as user and then after a pair of Italian meetings on -it (with robyduck and mailga), I got involved in the L10n team. A mini-talk from averi helped me to join that team. After a year, I joined the fedora-websites team and followed my mentor-master robyduck. After another year, I asked to become an ambassador of the Fedora Project. The next step? Continue to study and also join infra-team and …

What attracts you to this type of work or part of the project?

I like development and I’m studying to become a developer to change jobs.  I am merging this need with a love for open source and getting more willing volunteers. Furthermore, I like Red Hat, its advocacy for open source and the people involved.
