As you probably know, there is annual convention called Flock. This year’s is happening in Cape Cod, Hyannis, MA and will begin the morning of Tuesday, August 29. Sessions will continue each day until midday on Friday, September 1.
I have asked all of the session leaders from Flock some questions.
And now you are about to read one of the responses.
Fedora Legal and Licensing by Tom Callaway
What is the goal of your session at Flock?
To help spread awareness of the legal aspect of the Fedora Community.
What does it affect in the project?
Almost everything.
What does your talk focus on?
I’m giving two talks, one is an overview of legal concepts, the other is specifically discussing SPDX and what we might be able to do in Fedora around that.
Who should attend?
Anyone who wants to better understand how legal factors affect the Fedora community and project.
What do you do in Fedora/how long have you been involved in the project?
I’ve been involved in Fedora since day 0. I maintain a large pile of packages and act as the Fedora Legal liaison.
What attracts you to this type of work or part of the project?
I enjoy working with the Fedora community and helping to build something fun and useful.
