Fedora Linux 34 was released on Tuesday. Fedora Linux 32 will reach end of life on Tuesday 25 May.

Announcing Dates & CfP for Nest with Fedora

As we celebrate Fedora Linux 34 with the upcoming Release Party, we are also looking forward to our next event: Nest with Fedora. As I mentioned in my last update, the 2021 edition of our annual contributor conference will again be virtual. I am happy to announce the dates for this year’s contributor conference: August 5th-8th, 2021. The Fedora Project has been thriving, and I am sure that this years event will be full of exciting content.

I am also happy to announce that the Call for Participation for Nest with Fedora is now open. Submit your proposals by opening a ticket in the Flock repo on Pagure. We will have a rolling deadline process with acceptance dates of July 9th and July 16th, 2021. On behalf of the review committee, I look forward to your proposals. If you have any questions, please email flockinfo@fedoraproject.org.

Today we are starting the Nomination & Campaign period during which we accept nominations to the “steering bodies” of the following teams:

FESCo (Engineering) (4 seats)
Fedora Council (1 seat)
Mindshare (1 seat)

This period is open until 2020-05-12 at 23:59:59 UTC.

The Fedora Podcast is back! But it needs your help

The Fedora Marketing team is bringing back the Fedora Podcast. We have two main people working on it currently: Eduard (x3mboy) and me (Grayson/computerkid). That has been working great to get things rolling but there is plenty to do and. We need to bring in more of the community After all, Fedora is Friends and we need help from our friends! We also want to have a diverse group of folks involved in the Fedora Podcast project.

Contribute at the Fedora 34 CoreOS Test Day

The Fedora CoreOS team released the first Fedora CoreOS next stream release based on Fedora 34. They expect to promote this to the testing stream in two weeks, on the usual schedule. As a result, the Fedora CoreOS and QA teams have organized a test week. It begins Monday, April 26, 2021 and runs through the end of the week. Refer to the wiki page for links to the test cases and materials you’ll need to participate. Read below for details.

Community Outreach Revamp Update #5

In the winter months, the Community Outreach Revamp team conducted a survey. We set ourselves to host, curate and report back our results, with some interesting conclusions. Furthering on the same train of thought, we are working with the Fedora Council and Mindshare Committee on community-oriented questions for an annual contributor survey. We hope to receive a greater and more diverse set of responses as the annual contributor survey will be targeted toward Fedora’s entire contributor community, not just Mindshare and Outreach teams.

tmt hint 01: provisioning options

Do you want to safely run tests without breaking your laptop? Use the default provision method virtual which will execute tests under a virtual machine using libvirt with the help of testcloud:

Now that the Fedora Linux 34 is coming close to the release date, the Fedora Cloud SIG would like to get the community together this week to find and squash some bugs. We are organizing a test day from Friday, April 16th through Monday, April 19th.

For this event we’ll test Fedora Cloud Base content. See the Downloads Page for links to the Beta Cloud Base Images. We have qcow, AMI, and ISO images ready for testing.
