The kernel team is working on final integration for kernel 5.8. This version was just recently released and will arrive soon in Fedora. As a result, the Fedora kernel and QA teams have organized a test week from Monday, August 17, 2020 through Monday, August 24, 2020. Refer to the wiki page for links to the test images you’ll need to participate. Read below for details.

Continue readingThanks to our friends at the Spigot MC project, the Fedora Community is invited to build, survive, and thrive in an open-source Minecraft server until Monday, 10 August 2020! Join your friends and invite your family to join by connecting to fedora.spigotmc.net in the Minecraft: Java Edition client.
A paid Minecraft: Java Edition account is required to log in. Open the Minecraft game client and add a new third-party multiplayer server:
fedora.spigotmc.net
The server can hold up to 100 players at once.
Play Minecraft together with other Fedorans from around the world! Whether you want to build your own house or battle skeletons, zombies, and creepers in the night, you can craft your own adventure.
The Minecraft/Spigot server is a great way to catch some down time between sessions, and socialize with other gamers in the Fedora Community. You can also invite your family, friends, or young Fedorans to join in too.
The Minecraft/Spigot server will remain online until Monday, 10 August. After then, a download of the server world (not including The Nether and The End) will be made available so you can load the Fedora Nest Minecraft world in single player or other multiplayer servers.
The Fedora Minecraft/Spigot server follows the same Code of Conduct as Fedora Nest and the wider Fedora Community. Be kind, be respectful, and have fun!

I’m sad to report that Thomas Gilliard (satellit), who was a
valued member of the QA team for many years, passed away last week. His
wife contacted me with the news. Thomas was a regular and reassuring
presence at QA and blocker review meetings and ran many thousands of
tests since he first joined the team in 2009. He was particularly
dedicated to testing our Sugar builds. We’ll miss him.
This blog is about the varlink implementation in nmstate and my experience in this during this period. As a computer science enthusiast I’m interested in researching new topics. This project is my first experience in open source development has been a challenging experience. The project aims to enable libnmstate to be used by other programming languages, systems which don’t support python and via remote connections. I have also included some links which I referred to. I hope it will be helpful for students like me.

Nest begins Friday 7 August at 1200 UTC and runs through Sunday 9 August at 2200 UTC. The schedule will be published in the coming days. We are using a platform called Hopin, which has been generously provided by the Apache Software Foundation.

Continue readingIn the past times the Fedora Ambassadors Program had some issues, which made the Ambassadors Team feel disheartened and discouraged. This caused the Mindshare Committee to step up and to gather community input to improve the Ambassadors Program, which gave birth to the Fedora Ambassadors revamp proposal and to create a temporary taskforce which would work on the plan of action in the proposal.
