Interview with David Duncan

Questions

What is your background in Fedora? What have you worked on and what are you doing now?

I work on the Fedora Cloud-Sig and have a strong interest and investment in the downstream viability of the work. I enjoy learning from the Fedora community and building support for the community.

I am very focused on the messaging that relates to how we can drive additional adoption and support for the Fedora community overall.

Please elaborate on the personal “Why” which motivates you to be a candidate for Mindshare.

The planning and success of the mindshare group is important to me. I started my work with Fedora as a member of the early Fedora Ambassadors program and I have been a peripheral member of the mindshare efforts by participation. I have been engaged with business related to the building and development in the Fedora Cloud, Fedora CoreOS, and Fedora Packaging. The mindshare program is a great place to establish a strong relationship with the Fedora Project and I would very much like to work with the team to expand our numbers and strengthen the confidence and engagement of our current mindshare members. I take a lot of my inspiration from Mr. Bebout (nb) who is a critical member of the Fedora Project and has increased his participation in different fedora groups throughout the years.

Is there a specific task or issue you think that Mindshare should address this term and how would you contribute to that effort?

I would like to address specifically the messaging and building a solid messaging for the project so that, as representatives, we have a common messaging that we are comfortable to deliver and we feel like is a guiding beacon for how we want others to see the project.
