AI/ML Survey
The Fedora AI/ML survey is still open until July 31st to complete and share your thoughts with the Fedora council. This survey is intended to try to understand how the Fedora community views AI/ML and feel about its use in Fedora in order for the council to try to create informed guidelines for the project when it comes to using AI/ML.
Git Forge Replacement
The git forge replacement investigation is underway. Members of the Community Platform Engineering team are driving this work and its primary focus is to evaluate the use of either GitLab or Forgejo as a replacement for dist-git. Project hosting, etc is an important piece of this puzzle, but we are intentionally breaking the investigation down to dist-git first as this is at the core of our build and release ability for Fedora. Right now, the team are reviewing user stories that have been submitted for the dist-git use case and are working on deploying an instance of both GitLab and Forgejo in the CommuniShift service for experimentation. This is expected to be up and running after Flock to Fedora.
If you would like to get involved in this investigation, please join the matrix room and you can find issues that the team are working on in the ARC repository. the team also gave a short talk at the F40 release party if you would like to get more context on their work, and do bookmark their session at the upcoming Flock event to get the most up to date state of play of the investigation and where you could be of must help to the work!
