The Federated Message Bus, or Fedmsg, is used within the Fedora Infrastructure to easily connect services using ZeroMQ publishers and subscribers. This library is now deprecated in favour of Fedora Messaging.

Fedora Messaging provides a framework for declaring message schemas and a set of APIs to publish and consume messages to and from AMQP brokers.

In the project Fedora Happiness Packets, Fedmsg was set up to send messages to the Bus so that Fedora Badges could be awarded to the sender when they send a Happiness Packet, i.e an email worth of appreciation! My piece in this jigsaw was to migrate from Fedmsg to Fedora Messaging in this containerized project.

On February 27th, the Fedora Community in Nicaragua ran a Release Party for the F27 Release. The activity took place in a salon of Hotel Mansión Teodolinda in Managua. This is our first activity of the year. This event was late in the Fedora Development Schedule because the Fedora 28 release is coming soon this year, but we need to keep the community active and keep promoting the Fedora Four Foundations in Nicaragua. When the Fedora Board (the precursor to the current Fedora Council) set up the three-edition strategy for Fedora, we chose three broad areas, and asked interested people in our contributor community to develop focused editions aimed at a target in each area. These were server, desktop, and emerging computing — resulting in Fedora Server, Fedora Workstation, and Fedora Cloud Base Image.
