My Experience as a Fedora Intern

As my internship with Fedora comes to an end, I reflect on my experiences over the past five months.  I began my internship in May, applying to a Community Architect position posted through Red Hat. Call for Proposals: FWD 2022

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) team is hard at work in the preparation for Fedora Week of Diversity (FWD). We would love to have a larger group of volunteers to make Fedora Week of Diversity bigger and better this year to celebrate our diverse and inclusive community.

FWD will take place on October 14th and 15th on the Hopin platform. We are also hosting an online game on https://teambuilding.com/ for all participants to play and attend connection games.

We are calling for participants to be interviewed or give a talk on personal experiences on diversity, equity, and inclusion within Fedora and in your life. We would love to hear your story!

Fedora Pride Social hour 2022

Hey everyone! Happy Pride month!

This week’s Fedora Social is going to celebrate the end of Pride month as well as all our LGBTQ+ community members. Anyone is welcome! The more the merrier.

Thu, June 30, 2022 – 14:00-15:00 UTC

Join us to chat, play games, and just hang out together!

We’ll meet in the Element chat room and (usually) launch a Jitsi video call.

Note that this week is the “Early” time slot — we alternate with a “Late” one to better accommodate Fedoreans from different time zones. We’re so sorry If you can’t make this Fedora social but hope to see you at the next one!

Outreachy is a paid, remote internship program that helps traditionally underrepresented people in tech make their first contributions to Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) communities. Fedora Project is participating in this round of Outreachy as a mentoring organization. We asked our Outreachy interns to tell us some things about themselves! Here are they, in their own words.
