Continue readingThe Fedora Community in Brazil recently celebrated the release of Fedora Linux 37. The last Release Party in-person in Brazil was back in July 2016. We hosted a Fedora 37 Release Party at the University of São Paulo this month with the help of the Grupo de Extensão em Livre e Open Source (GELOS) group. Thank you to all the organizers, speakers, and attendees who made the Fedora 37 Release Party Brazil possible.
Continue readingAs we work our way through the Fedora Linux 37 Schedule, I am excited to announce that we will celebrate the final release of Fedora Linux 37 with a virtual Release Party. Please register on Hopin and join us on November 4th & 5th for a short program of informational sessions and social activities. Make sure to save the dates, share the registration, and show up to celebrate with Fedora Friends, old and new!
The schedule for the Release Party features informational sessions about Fedora CoreOS, Anaconda Web UI, AWS & Fedora, and a bunch more current community activities. We are planning to include the classic Pictionary social, as well as a new (to the release party) GeoGuessr social. Last, but certainly not least, we will be hanging out in the Fedora Museum WorkAdventure for our Hallway track. Thanks to our amazing community for all your contributions to the latest release of Fedora Linux. Let’s party!
Allow us to wake you up when September ends because Hacktoberfest is (nearly) here. And you can contribute to the Fedora Project while participating in Hacktoberfest 2022! This event is an excellent opportunity to advocate for free and open-source software, all while giving back to the community with the contribution of your choice. Hacktoberfest includes low and non-code contributions. You can diversify your contributions to include writing docs, creating designs, running tests, mentoring folks, and much more. This global event is open for anyone, from students to professionals. People of all backgrounds and skill levels are encouraged to join us.
Continue readingThe Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) team is hard at work in the preparation for Fedora Week of Diversity (FWD). We would love to have a larger group of volunteers to make Fedora Week of Diversity bigger and better this year to celebrate our diverse and inclusive community.
FWD will take place on October 14th and 15th on the Hopin platform. We are also hosting an online game on https://teambuilding.com/ for all participants to play and attend connection games.
We are calling for participants to be interviewed or give a talk on personal experiences on diversity, equity, and inclusion within Fedora and in your life. We would love to hear your story!

Continue readingThe Fedora Community in Panama recently celebrated the release of Fedora Linux 36. Our last in-person event was back in December 2019. Thank you to all the organizers, participants, and attendees who made the Fedora Explorer Day 36 event possible.
We had six sessions in total, four in person and two online sessions with friends from Mexico and Venezuela, with the addition of an hour of Fedora networking on YouTube and Twitch.

Sign up to join us for the virtual version of Flock to Fedora with a three day event hosted on the Hopin platform. Nest will kick off on Thursday August 4th and run through Saturday August 6th. Our virtual contributor conference will feature Fedora content, workshops, and social hours—but most importantly, our wonderful community!
