Updates

Matrix Native Zodbot

With ongoing stability issues with the Matrix <-> IRC bridge and many contributors switching over to Matrix, zodbot has become increasingly unreliable. The bridge is currently shut off completely. This initiative will provide a future proof solution and allow us to conduct meetings without wasting time troubleshooting the bridge and zodbot.

  • This initiative is now finished as the Zodbot is already running in Matrix for a few months and most of the initial issues were resolved

EPEL packages are usually based on their Fedora counterparts and will never conflict with or replace packages in the base Enterprise Linux distributions. EPEL uses much of the same infrastructure as Fedora, including buildsystem, bugzilla instance, updates manager, mirror manager, and more.

Goal of this initiative

CPE has a few members who are working as part of the Community Design Team. This team is working on anything related to design in the Fedora Community.

  • Dates and CfP are now open for Creative Freedom Summit 2024! 🎉
  • Podman Desktop Kubernetes UX Research in progress.
  • Fedora Badges front-end mock-ups in progress.
  • The questionnaire on the current interface closes tomorrow, Thursday, October 12th!

  • Move old FMN to F38
  • Server updates/reboots
  • New koji theme deployed on koji.stg.fedoraproject.org
  • Bunch of machines upgraded to f38: all builders, koji hubs, proxies, kojipkgs
  • Mass update/reboot cycle over all machines completed. Some stability issues with rhel8.8 kernel still being investigated. (db01 outage due to that)
  • Setup smtp auth for flock call for papers (and copr machines too)
  • Retired old old space in rdu2 to be replaced by an internal vm.

Community Design

Goal of this initiative

CPE has few members that are working as part of Community Design Team. This team is working on anything related to design in Fedora Community.

    • Preparing talk for release party.

DNF mirrors-countme improvement

Goal of this initiative

This initiative is working on enhancing current DNF mirrors-countme script, which is used to provide statistics about number of Fedora installations on machines. This script has few bottlenecks that will be addressed as part of this intiative.
ARC investigation

Updates

  • Start poking at individual IP statistics
  • More cleanup work (remove unused code, split up code along topical boundaries, make function signatures less opaque)
  • Resume work on test coverage
