2024 Git Forge Evaluation

Vol. I – Fedora Council 2024 Hackfest

During the Council’s February 2024 hackfest, we discussed the future of Fedora’s git forge – that is, the platform Fedora uses for version control and tracking for packages, source code, documentation, and more. This topic has been around for quite some time. If you are just coming into this conversation, or would like a refresher, #git-forge-future is a good place to start.

Instead of one huge post, the Fedora Council divided the follow-ups from our hack-fest into a mini-series of posts throughout April that will cover all the topics we discussed and made decisions on. In each post, we will walk through one core topic, and share our discussion and thought process on how we reached our outcomes. CPE at Flock 2023

This year the annual Flock to Fedora conference was finally in person again. It happened in Clayton Hotel Silver Springs (Cork, Ireland) and it also offered the online streams for those who couldn’t attend in person. There was also CentOS Connect happening at the same time. As Community Platform Engineering (CPE) Team is part of those communities it was there and gave a few talks as well.

Friday with Infra

What is Friday with Infra?

Friday with Infra is a new event done by CPE (Community Platform Engineering) Team, that will help potential contributors to start working on some of the applications we maintain. During this event members of the CPE team will help you to start working on those applications and help you with any issue you may encounter. At the end of this event you should be able to maintain the application by yourself.
